HAIR: GO FOR GOLD

Trending Now – blonde ambition!!!

From buttery gold hues to glittering champagnes, go light and look like a shining star this winter! With A-listers galore revamping their blonde, we talked to colour expert Sam Snow about the latest looks for lighter locks.

TREND ALERT
Going lighter can be daunting because there are so many hues to choose from. ‘Give trending colours a go,’ advises Sam. ‘Think buttery blondes with warmth and richness, and know that honeys and golds are back!  For inspiration, think “Gigi Hadid”.’ And if you don’t want high-maintenance highlights, Sam suggests the 1970s colouring technique, balayage. ‘It’s definitely still around in a big way!’

LIGHTEN AND BRIGHTEN
If your hair is darker to start with, it’s going to be a gradual process. ‘Take it slow,’ says Sam. ‘Blondes that have gone light too quickly can be quite obvious and bad condition is not the outcome you want.’

PERFECT HUE
Today’s products make it easy to keep your mane looking vibrant. ‘Blonde refreshing shampoos are fantastic,’ says Sam. ‘My favourites are from the Schwarzkopf Blondeme range, as they have enough pigment to use everyday without feeling like you have overdone it. You can always spot a blonde who has overused violet shampoo.’

DIY A GOOD IDEA?
‘It pays to consult the experts,’ says Sam. ‘If going more that two shades lighter than your natural colour, leave it to us,’ she advises. ‘When lightening hair, you can quite often come out with shades of yellow or orange, which is where the expert comes in to help you achieve your perfect blonde hue.’
