Finding a foundation can be (very) hard. Here are five new formulas that get our tick of approval…
If you’re not ready to fully embrace the “no makeup” make-up trend we support you, however you should be warned – there are some new foundations on the block that cover (and treat) everything from large pores, redness, pigmentation and dullness, without that tell-tale cakey finish.
So, (and you can thank us later), here are five transformative new formulas worth warming up to this season…
AIRBRUSHED: Diorskin Forever Foundation, $86 – If you’re after glowing skin to rival J.Lo’s, look no further than this liquid formula. Not only does it deliver a great, buildable coverage, it glides on seamlessly and has a pore minimising affect on the skin – hence the airbrushed finish. For best results, apply with a sponge like this Dior Backstage Blender, $39.
DOUBLE DUTY: Revlon ColorStay 2-in-1 Compact Makeup + Concealer, $41.95 –
With a perfectly matched concealer, this full-coverage compact foundation is not only great for on the go, but actually has a sweat-resistant formula that helps make-up stay flawless for longer.
PERFECT MATCH: Max Factor Miracle Match Foundation, $30.99 – If finding the perfect colour is proving too hard, give this a try. Containing a new silicone ingredient it behaves more like a moisturiser that enables high performance blendability with medium coverage.
LUMINOUS: YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint, $98 and Y Brush, $89 – This liquid foundation has a luxuriously smooth, lightweight texture that blends well and sets to a finish that feels matte but looks luminous. Best applied with the new Y Brush to buff into the skin seamlessly.
CLEVER COVER: Shiseido Sychro Veil Foundation, $69 – Just like its name, this foundation promises to adapt and synchronise with every skin tone thanks to its transparent correcting polymer. It lets your natural skin tones show through while correcting unevenness in texture and tone. With 11 shades to choose from, it won’t be hard picking one that’s close to perfect anyway!
DON’T FORGET TO PRIME!*
Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer, $59 – A primer is an essential first step to keeping your make-up on all day. This formula not only helps diffuse light with it’s Triple Blurring Complex, it also treats the skin with hydrating hyaluronic acid and botanical extracts as well as silica beads to absorb excess oil. A must for all skin types!
